Okay dear friends! Just a little update on recent events at the Brenning household... About 7 weeks ago we made a very crazy, scary, awesome, exciting discovery... We haven't shared with very many people up until this point just as a precaution... but....
We are pleased to announce that we will be welcoming our third child sometime around mid-September (Due date is Sept. 16th)!! I am so excited to have another little one around this fall, as well as having a different experience this time. Instead of my care being based out of a hospital, I will be seen by a group of midwives and will deliver at their free-standing birth center. For those who do not know, a free standing birth center is not affiliated with a hospital. There are no doctors, there are no epidurals or operating rooms, it is simply a group of midwives who own and operate their own birth center with a more gentle and personal approach to the care they provide. These midwives will often times offer the option to birth at home. While home birth was very appealing to me, it is not an option for us as indicated by our insurance coverage... And that's okay!! I am happy with a birth center. My experience will be just as wonderful.
If anyone has any questions about midwives, birth centers, safety, etc... please feel free to ask!! I have done a lot of research, read lots of books, and been to deliveries with midwives as well... I am not going into this blindly.
I want to thank everyone for all your love and support!! I am excited to document and share my journey with all of you. My blog posts are about to get a lot more frequent.
God bless!!

Congratulations, Toni and Jeff! :) Squee! I hope little one gets their own birthday unlike mine! lol
ReplyDeleteThanks Judy!! :) I'm very excited!! And yes... there are several dates in September that I would prefer this little one isn't born on, but it's out of my control. lol This little one's birthday has already been set by God, and I hope he's taken my preferences into consideration!! lol I have a suspicion I might go overdue with this one... but we'll see. For some reason I keep thinking the 21st. I'm probably wrong, but you never know!
